Summary

Jumanji Wild Adventures is a game that offers a variety of features and gameplay elements. The game boasts decent graphics and is a 7.7GB download. It’s an officially licensed game with character likenesses from the rebooted film series. The game provides three save slots and three difficulty levels – Easy, Medium, and Jumanji. It also includes animated comic book-style cutscenes and in-game interactions.

The gameplay is third-person action with four playable characters. The game incorporates elements like puzzles, platforming, and even endless runners. There are boss-like encounters in a level and then big boss-only levels. The game also features hidden bonus rooms and a system to collect letters to spell Jumanji for a bonus.

The game supports two to four local multiplayer and allows drop-in and out co-op. You can earn experience overall regardless of character and level up to get bonus rewards and upgrades. The game also features a shop where you can spend coins on pets and new equipment.

However, the game does suffer from some performance issues. There’s sluggish jumping and stop-start movement. There’s no camera control and the camera gets a bit all over the place. The game also has bad hit detection and level layouts vary from fine to bad.

The game is more aimed at younger players and is best played in multiplayer but is fine in solo. However, it lacks the character’s voices from the film series and the music is not great. The game also lacks online multiplayer and getting equipment in the shop is a real grind. Despite these issues, the game offers a unique and engaging experience for players.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
