Lords of Exile Review, In ancient times of war in the Far East, the lands of Exilia were overrun by creatures of the night and samurais. Amidst this cruel conflict, only a bloodthirsty cursed knight can bring hope and vanquish the darkness.

Lords of Exile Review Pros:

  • Decent 8 Bit graphics.
  • 810.3MB download size.
  • Platinum trophy.
  • In game cutscenes and player interactions which can be skipped.
  • Three save slots.
  • Action platformer gameplay.
  • Tutorial pop ups as you play.
  • Takes inspiration from game like Castlevania.
  • Boss encounters throughout.
  • Earn and learn new abilities like a shadow ninja who can take down walls for you.
  • Hidden secrets and routes.
  • Enemies can drop coins used for the shop.
  • Goes for the old school way of dying which is every death restarts you at the beginning of the level.
  • Familiar and easy to learn controls.
  • Excellent Chiptune soundtrack.
  • Many enemy types.
  • Breakable boxes for throwing weapons such as scythes and knives.
  • Big end-of-level boss encounters.
  • Uses a world map system akin to Ghosts N Goblins.
  • The game is only difficult in places so you don’t have to be amazing at the genre to get fun.
  • You can jump, slide, and slam down attack on enemies from the start.
  • Unlock the ability play as two different characters who each play wildly different.
  • Finish the game to speed run mode and boss Rush.
  • Eight levels each memorable and unique feeling.
  • A lot of solid platforming action.
  • Very addictive and satisfying to play.

Lords of Exile Review Cons:

  • No game settings.
  • Cannot rebind controls.
  • The jump takes a bit of getting used to as it is quite short.
  • The game doesn’t save mid-level.
  • Never sure when it is saving.
  • Ladders are not smooth and need a jump-off action.
  • Any sort of climbing and jumping is clunky.
  • Had the game hard crash in the same spot over and over.
  • Has a horrible knockback from a damaged mechanic.
