Metro Redux Series Finally Hits MAC Computers

4A Games and Deep Silver have today released dedicated  Mac versions of Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux via Steam. Developed in-house at 4A Games, Metro Redux uses OpenGL 4 to deliver one of the most technically advanced games to appear natively on Mac.

Existing owners of any Steam version of Metro Redux will automatically find the respective game available through their Windows PC, Linux and now Mac Steam libraries.

Both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light Redux will also be available via the Mac App Store from Thursday 16th April.

Deep Silver confirmed that over 1.5 million Metro Redux games have been sold worldwide, and that the compilation ‘Metro Redux’ for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has now outsold Metro: Last Light for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in multiple territories – an unprecedented feat for a ‘Remaster.’ When measured against sales of the previous generation release, Metro Redux is the best performing Remaster of this generation. It is also the publisher’s highest rated game according to review aggregator Metacritic.

“We are thrilled with the performance of Metro Redux,” said Menno Van der Bil, International Commercial Director at Deep Silver. “4A Games have created one of the benchmarks by which other remasters will be judged, and we have seen their efforts rewarded with fantastic critical and commercial success. Metro Redux has introduced many new fans to the series, and we look forward to reaching a whole new audience on Mac.”

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
