Mira’s Brush Preview (Steam Early Access)
For our Mira’s Brush Preview we take on this cute color-based platformer. As a house painter, use Mira’s magic brush to steal color from enemies and use those colors to jump, dash and figure her way through Chromaland.

- Gimmick – you can steal an enemy’s color and paint enemies, if they match the background they get defeated and disappear.
- You can paint, change the color of enemies but also paint parts of the environment to have things appear like walls and platforms.
- Prism tickets or rainbow coins are all over the place and are used as the currency in the game.
- Platformer gameplay.
- Has an old-school feel to it.
- Colorblind support.
- Getting hit has you lose the color of your character until you die.
- Clever idea.
- Chiptune soundtrack.
- The map fills in as you play.
- Only 3 buttons are used.
- Painting parts of the level to find shortcuts.
- Cool little features like taking the sun’s color make it rain in the world.
- Bonus areas.
- Puzzle elements to it.
- Levels will have to be replayed as there are too many things to do in one run.
- Every level has a set amount of sacred art and is paintable to interact with as well as an overall paint percentage.
- Hub allows you to use the shops, talk to people, practice on enemies and work as a level select.
- Can replay levels.
- Save when you want.
- Load quicksaves option.
Mira’s Brush Preview Cons:
- No Steam achievements yet.
- No graphics settings.
- The mouse cursor stays on the screen.
- Music can go weird after loading.
- The mechanic of grabbing and painting is easy enough but it does come with a slight learning curve.
- You die far too quickly.
- Dialogue with characters has the camera jump all over the place and zoom in and out.
- Cannot skip the dialogue.
- Text in places is not in pixel form and it looks out of place and wrong.
- Not sure if intentional but you can just enter and exit shops to reset the prism tickets allowing you to farm items.
- Jumping feels loose.
- Never sure what is an obstacle or a platform similarly never sure what is an enemy or friend.
- Does not explain things clearly and this is more frustrating at the start of the game.
