Naheulbeuks Dungeon Master Review (PlayStation 5)
Naheulbeuks Dungeon Master Review, Embody Reivax, the servile (or not) steward of the Dungeon of Naheulbeuk. Years before the first incursion of fearless adventurers, you are tasked to build, develop, and populate the wobbly tower. Above all, try not to upset your master, the evil sorcerer Zangdar. Are you up to the task?
Naheulbeuks Dungeon Master Review Pros:
- Decent graphics.
- 3.89GB download size.
- Platinum trophy.
- Invert axis and sensitivity sliders.
- You can set the autosave frequency.
- Two game modes – Campaign, and Sandbox mode.
- Animated character portrait interactions.
- A full 3D game world with 360-degree camera control.
- The minions have an origin, profession, rank, and salary.
- Each individual minion earns their own EXP and levels up to increase stats and make tasks easier.
- When building you get to scale the size, and then place each individual asset within it like doors, etc.
- The grid system is used for placing and building which helps a lot.
- Handy green and red outline to tell you if the item can or cannot be placed.
- A lot of humor throughout.
- Loads of shortcuts for features like overhead camera pause the game, and game speed options.
- The campaign has a lot of hand-holding and tutorial-style quests.
- The tavern is where you make your money and here you can pay maintenance costs, and add new services by placing structures and items.
- Each building has its own room state and rating showing what’s done and what needs to be done like cleaning etc.
- In-game cutscenes for when new adventurers turn up.
- Save and load when you want.
- You hire minions and soldiers to do tasks and fight for you.
- Workers can go on strike, they will always list their demands, but you can always just fire them.
- Morale plays a huge part in all aspects of the game.
- Incursions can and will happen where enemy soldiers will try and take over your castle.
- All combat is done in real-time and as an auto battler.
- The recruitment menu is always changing and here it shows all available minions, their CVs, and special traits or requests they have.
- The game will play itself so money is always coming in and actions are being taken care of as long as you are on top of everything.
- Excellent soundtrack.
- You get different races of minions and they don’t always play well together so you have to be mindful of what and where you build.
- Some minions need particular facilities.
- Play how you want.
- It’s a game where you have to be constantly managing people from hiring leaders to new rooms and facilities, to then manning this new facility, maintaining the castle, protecting the castle, and so on.
- The game is very very deep and allows you to do so much like being creative with placement to how you build your team around you.
- I like the constant drip feed of missions and pop-ups as it does help you not only learn but also stay on track.
- It is very rewarding once you get the flow down.
Naheulbeuks Dungeon Master Review Cons:
- Cannot remap the controls.
- The button icons don’t always line up or have a delay.
- A lot to take in for the first few hours.
- Slow pace to it all and the first hour in particular takes a while to get going.
- It’s very fiddly and awkward to learn what the buttons are and if you need to do something quick it can get quite stressful.
- A lot of menu surfing.
- Menus don’t always have a guide of what or where to go so you can get stuck in a menu.
