Summary
Only Up is a parkour game with decent graphics and a manageable download size. The game offers real-time multiplayer and solo-play options, with the goal of ascending by any means necessary. Power-ups and ten different locations add variety to the gameplay. However, the game falls short in several areas. The movement and jump mechanics are slow and broken, often leading to cheap deaths. There’s no tutorial, inconsistent vaulting, and slow restarts after falling or failing. The game lacks settings for graphics, mouse sensitivity, and controls. Matchmaking is unreliable, and the game suffers from occasional slowdowns and pop-ups. Overall, Only Up feels rushed and incomplete, with a grindy character-unlocking process and a lack of fun in gameplay.
