Overcooked! 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Review Cons

  • Some of the new levels irritate more than innovate.
  • The update pack from the Switch 1 version to the Switch 2 version is just the game, and you lose out as you don’t get DLC with it.
  • There is not enough clear information everywhere as to what you get with one version over the other, and especially with the upgrade pack.
  • Any type of lag will ruin the game.
  • Feels at times like a big DLC drop rather than a new game. That soon disappears, but it definitely starts that way.
  • No online leaderboards for the levels.
  • Ruins friend/relationships.
  • Causes a lot of swearing.
  • Blinking and breathing can be hard thanks to the frantic pace.
  • It can get very overwhelming.
  • Kind of has to play the story to get all the characters and locations unlocked.
  • Not fun to play solo. You have to constantly change chefs and manage so much, it’s not fun.

Despite the fun, Overcooked 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has drawbacks. Some new levels irritate more than innovate, and the upgrade pack from Switch 1 to Switch 2 lacks DLC, leaving players shortchanged. Lag can ruin the experience, and at times, the game feels like a large DLC drop rather than a new release. The absence of online leaderboards reduces competitive appeal, while the frantic pace can overwhelm, causing frustration and even straining friendships. Playing solo is not enjoyable, as constant chef swapping and heavy management make it feel more like a chore.

Overcooked 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Immersive Story and Narrative Elements:
The story in Overcooked 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is light but effective, with cutscenes and character interactions that can be skipped for pace. The narrative revolves around battling the Unbread and exploring the Onion Kingdom, with humour sprinkled throughout. Unlocking new characters and progressing through the world map adds a sense of adventure, while secret buttons and shortcuts make exploration more engaging.

Overcooked 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Visual and Performance Aspects:
Overcooked 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition shines with cutesy, chubby graphics and smooth 4K visuals at 60FPS. The 11.7GB download size packs in all DLC when bought outright, including Carnival of Chaos, Surf N Turf, and Night of the Hangry Horde. Overcooked 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Overall Verdict: Is It Worth Playing?:
Overcooked 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is a frantic, fun, and rewarding test of teamwork and relationships. It delivers chaos, laughter, and addictive gameplay, supported by strong accessibility and performance features.
