Review: Mekorama (PlayStation 4)
Guide the adorable robot “B” (because he looks like a Bee) to safety after he crash lands on a strange cubic planet. Think outside of the box to find solutions sometimes in unconventional ways to find a way forward. You’ll be amazed at what’s possible (and necessary!) and before long captivated to get to the end.
Pros:
- Cutesy graphics.
- 41.67mb download size.
- Opening tutorial level.
- Puzzle gameplay.
- The game plays out on a cubed location.
- The view can be changed by spinning the level.
- Interact with platform blocks.
- Choose your own level order as you unlock a few levels after each completion.

- Four difficulties-easy/medium/tricky/hard.
- Hints-on/off.
- 25 levels in each difficulty.
- Good brain workout.
- Level creator which is easy to use and does a block by block build system.
Cons:
- Tedious repetitive soundtrack.
- Created levels are local play only with no way to share online.
- The level editor lags a fair bit.
- Only one control scheme.
- Controls are fiddly as it doesn’t use a snap to system and instead, the stick is used like a mouse and pointer.
- No leaderboard or scoring system.
- Little replay level.

Summary
Everyone likes a good puzzle game, here we have one where it’s all about navigating these small cube sided dioramas. You can interact with certain blocks or platforms to move around. It’s all very simple and pleasant. For me, the controls are what really let this version down. If it used a snap to system then maybe it could be better but using the analog stick as a mouse is not fun to use and makes levels take twice as long and adds that extra frustration. That aside you can power through the levels and get a good brain workout but it’s all very short-lived with no scoring or replay level. I came away not enjoying it but also not hating it, it’s just OK. It’s almost like a concept and is just waiting for more game to be added, looks cool as though.
