Review: Metagal (Nintendo Switch)

You will take the shoes of “Meta”, a cyborg girl, in her quest to rescue her Creator “Dr Ray” from the hands of “General Creeper”, the evil leader of a rogue army!! Also, Metagal’s sisters were kidnapped by Creeper: he turned them in battle cyborgs, in order to use their powers to rule the world!! Meta must face her sisters, free them, and copy their abilities. She must fight for 8 stages of intense action, and prepare herself for the final confrontation against Creeper himself!

- Has a mega man inspired gameplay. Runs as a run and gun game and ends with a boss fight.

- Five characters to unlock.
- Checkpoints.
- Defeat a boss and take their power/ability.
- Cartoon style cutscenes.
- Opening Cinematic.
- Health pickups.
- Gears-act like lives.
- Big boss fights.
- Difficult.
- Local leaderboards.
- 8 levels/areas.
- Looks fantastic.
- Analog and d-pad support.

Cons:
- Difficult.
- The tutorial is way too basic.
- Simple level design.
- Annoying platform parts.
- Jumping and shooting feel spongey.
- No online leaderboards.
- Basic options.
- Getting off ladders is a pain mostly because the ladder goes higher than the ground.
- Pulling off dash is tricky.
- No duck/crouch button.
- Can’t look at controls when in game.
- Checkpoints are far apart.
