Review: Peasant Knight (PlayStation 4)

Peasant Knight is a challenging puzzle-platformer that you can play with only two keys: jump and stop. All the while you’re relentlessly dashing forward into traps, enemies, and hazards.

Pros:

  • OK, graphics.
  • 48.71mb download size.
  • Platinum trophy.
  • Runner gameplay.
  • Brieft tutorial pop ups.
  • 4 player local play.
  • Instant restarts.
  • 48 levels.
  • You are always moving forward, you can momentarily stop, jump, etc and must get to the end.
  • Shows FPS counter.
  • A bar that fills up as you play, once full you get insta killed by lightning.

Cons:

  • No countdown at the start of a level.
  • Repetitive.
  • FPS counter? Why.
  • Lightning feels pointless and only there to flat out annoy you.
  • No replay value.
  • No timer or leaderboards.
  • Kind of feels flat.

Summary

A very simple game, Peasant Knight is a game where you must get to the end of a level whilst your character continuously runs forward. You can of course jump and stop him for a short time but it’s not particularly challenging, infuriating yes but not challenging. Peasant Knight is definitely a one and done grab the trophies and get out affair.
