  • Graphics are simply gorgeous, You will not be seeing any better graphics of such high quality in a long time. The first true representation of the Star Wars universe.
  • Sound: The music matches the graphics standard and maintains the Star Wars tradition of top notch musical scores, The blasters the ships its all intact and authentic.
  • When the game is installing you can actually play a mini-game where you play as Vader and just kill endless waves of enemies.
  • Multiple controller layout choices.
  • Easy control scheme and very much a pick up and play approach.
  • Full 1000 Gamerscore.
  • Companion app: Check stats and unlocks. Play the mini-game and earn credits for the full game.
  • Two modes: Multiplayer and Missions.
  • Missions are split into 3 categories: Training, Battle and Survival.

  • Battles: Hoth, Tatooine, Endor and Sullist. Each level has a hero variant whereby you play as one of the heroes in the same scenario. Three difficulties and five stars are available to earn. Gameplay is very much like kill confirmed, Killed enemies drop a marker so collect it to score, You drop one when you die and collect Allie markers to stop the enemy scoring. You have a choice of two card loadouts and finishing a mode on hard will unlock multiplayer perks.
  • Bare bones layout meaning everyone starts out with just a blaster and slowly builds up their hand. With no killstreaks or stupid over the top perks the game does simple shooting.
  • Survival: Wave based horde mode on the base maps: Hoth, Tatooine, Endor and Sullist. Available in solo and local/online co-op. Three difficulties and 5 stars can be earned on each map.
  • Multiplayer has many modes: Supremacy (Team deathmatch), Walker Assault (Objective based 40 player), Fighter Squadron (air combat),  Blast, Cargo, Drop Zone (objective based mode), Droid run( modified CTF mode), Hero hunt (Kill the hero to become a hero, Winner is the hit x amounts of kills) and Heroes Vs Villans (deathmatch with heroes and villains).
  • Challenges: finish them to earn bonus credits. They change as you progress.
  • Star Cards: Earn/buy/unlock cards for your card loadout. Cards offer more customizable options to you. Cards can vary from grenades to jump packs to weapons. They will have a cooldown and three can be equipped for battle. Charged star cards are more powerful cards and require a charge to use. You can replenish charge by finding them in game.
  • Power-ups littered over the battle field. Pick them up for a special weapon like rocket launcher or droid support. You can also jump into vehicles from these pick ups and transform into a hero or villain.
  • Blasters: Selection of guns to unlock and buy as you level up. You can also examine and look around the guns.
  • You can swap between 1st and 3rd person with a simple button press.
  • Unlock and buy emotes in game.
  • MVP screen at the end of the battle for things like most kills, most points earned or top assists.
  • Earn exp in game by playing and level up.
  • EXP earned in game also converts into credits earned.
  • Fast matchmaking and you can even get into a lobby and see what’s what before you actually join.

  • AI will not actively pick up markers in battle mode.
  • Battles are slow and drawn out.
  • No clan options.
  • No actual single player.
  • Traversing the land can be a pain, Just performing a simple jump up ledges and hills can be a real pain.
  • Feels like you are made of glass.
  • Game has no real connection with gamers, The modes feel like a collection of separate mini games with no sense of connectivity between them.
  • Once the initial rush of OMG Star Wars it soon turns into just another shooter with some good ideas.
  • Maps, especially in battle are barren with most of the map going unused due to spawns and power up layouts.
  • Balancing is nonexistent, Higher ranked players have access to much better gear and will always have the upper hand.
  • Spawn locations are horrible with 9 times out of 10 chance you will either spawn into death or spawn behind the enemy but no matter what happens, You will always have someone behind you.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
