Review: Vaccine (Nintendo Switch)
Find a vaccine for your infected friend before the time runs out, but be aware – your friend will relapse sooner or later and you will have to find a new vaccine in a new, randomly rebuilt house.
Pros:
- PlayStation 1 looking graphics.
- 308MB Download size.
- CRT effects option.
- Resident Evil clone inspired gameplay.
- Set camera angles.
- Tank controls.
- Chilling soundtrack.
- You have 30 minutes to find a vaccine for your friend.
- Pick ups flash.
- Weapons-Knife, Shotgun, Pistol.
- Earn EXP by killing zombies, Rats, Bats and anything else that moves. You get EXP for opening doors.
- Rooms and pick ups randomize every game.
- Level up to increase your stats like health, Stamina etc.
- Atmospheric.
- Feels and plays just like Resident Evil.
- Tons of replay ability.
- Once it clicks it is a great game with some excellent moments.
- Best mission time displayed for each character.
- Two characters to choose from, A guy or woman and both have different base stats.
- Supports TV and handheld.
- Scattered notes for clues or back story.
- Detailed rooms.
- Timer is front and centre.
- Every time you play you learn something new.
- You can run, Dodge and unlock new abilities as you level particular stats.
- The game follows the Resident Evil graphics formula, Static detailed locations and the bulk of the actual graphics are for the creatures and characters.
Cons:
- Tank controls are hard to get used to after all this time.
- Awkward camera angles.
- No tutorial.
- Only one difficulty.
- Combat is a bit off at times, Always take a huge hit regardless of what you do.
- UI is a bit clumsy and you never really know where you are especially when in a rush.
- Cannot see off screen enemies.
- No map.
- Skimpy on medkits.
- Enemy strength varies.
- Bad NRG ruins a run before it starts.
- Hard to line up shots/attacks.
- No notification of leveling up.
- No save points.
- Only one control scheme.

8.2? So Breath of the Wild is just slightly better than Vaccine? The graphics are an 8? You might stretch the overall rating to a 5, but I’d give it a 3 to be generous.
