Reviews: Hook (Nintendo Switch)

HOOK is a short minimal, puzzle game.

Pros:

  • Minimalist graphics.
  • 77mb download size.
  • Touchscreen controls.
  • Puzzle gameplay.
  • Music on/off.
  • Goal-retract each line without touching the others.
  • New mechanics pop over time like the ability to change the direction of lines.
  • Can replay previous levels.
  • Satisfying.
  • Quick to learn.
  • Good brain food.
  • Chilled soundtrack.

Cons:

  • No tutorial.
  • Can’t use face buttons.
  • No pause button.
  • No replay value.
  • No leaderboards or scoring.
  • Annoying fade out restart animation.
