Schim Review (PlayStation 5)
Schim Review, SCHiM is a game about jumping from shadow to shadow in a relaxing and lively environment. This 3D platformer takes elements of light, shadow & animation and adds them directly to the gameplay, delivering an experience that you will only find in SCHiM.
Schim Review Pros:
- Beautiful graphics.
- 666.6MB download size.
- Platinum trophy.
- Video settings – line thickness set to 1 or 2. (this helps with identifying where you can and cannot jump)
- Can remap buttons.
- The gameplay is you control a child and move around a world but also as a small shadow ball that can only jump from shadow to shadow.
- The levels all flow into one so you just keep going through.
- As you play you learn more and more about what you can and cannot do.
- A lot of the time you control a small child and move around like that with your little Schim in your shadow who can jump out when you want.
- The color schemes are always changing, from turning the crossing green to red, and all the surrounding area changes Color.
- Soothing and mellow soundtrack.
- Hidden Collectibles within each section.
- You have some customisation choices for the colors in the world that can help.
- Handy level/location select which also tells you how many Collectibles you are missing.
- It’s a fascinating world as you have so much to explore and so many unique ways to do it.
- Jumping between shadows does have a bit of light way so you can go into the light as it were and still make it.
- You don’t really die in the game instead you get put back to the last safe space you were in.
Schim Review Cons:
- It’s a game that takes its time for you to learn what you can and cannot do.
- At times it feels like you have no idea.
- Collectibles can be hard to make out.
- No accessibility options like colorblind support.
- Little replay value.
- The camera feels kind of redundant for the large part as you never really need it or the movement is so minimal.
