Shadow of Loot Box Review (Nintendo Switch)
Our Shadow of Loot Box review has us playing a first-person shooter about micropayments, loot boxes, cut content, and everything we “love” in modern video games. Shadow of Loot Box is an attempt to present what video games can become in the near future. Each level of this shooter is a reference to a popular trend in the modern game development industry. Will you be able to overcome the thorny path full of microtransactions, loot boxes, and bugs, resisting the temptation to use the in-game store?
Shadow of Loot Box Review Pros:
- Pixel graphics.
- Three difficulties- Easy, Normal, and hard.
- Invert axis option.
- Instant loading times.
- First-person adventure gameplay.
- Weapons- Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle, and rocket launcher.
- Earn EXP, Level up, and get upgrade points to put in a tree to unlock new abilities like more health, Run or interacting with objects, etc.
- 611MB Download size.
- 16 levels.
- Big boss fights.
- A lot of in-game humor about the state of the games industry today.
- Simple controls- Shoot, Jump and interact.
- Clear HUD shows health, AmmoEXP, etc.
- Loot boxes- Give random loot like EXP, weapons, ammo, or health.
- Collect/buy/earn loot boxes.
- Nice locations from jungles to snow to medieval towns.
- Takes on multiple genres from a crafting-themed level to one where you manage your hunger and warmth to puzzle mazes.
- Autosaves regularly.
- Took a few hours to finish.
- The levels are quite big.
- Can find and take on optional; side quests.
Shadow of Loot Box Review Cons:
- The difficulty option feels redundant.
- Took only a few hours to finish.
- No touchscreen support.
- Dodgy hit detection.
- No replay value.
- The same couple of enemy models over and over.
- Repetitive music.
- Possible (I did it!) to farm EXP and loot boxes by doing a simple fetch quest over and over with no limits.

Summary
Shadow of loot box is a game that takes in many genre types and for that, it really mixes things up and keeps it going. The thing is it decides to start on a slow-ass maze puzzle and have you collecting orbs in order to level up and get simple actions like jumping and interacting. Once you get guns and start shooting it all gets a bit better. Players will appreciate the ideas represented but with it only taking a few hours, May feel a bit short-changed. The con I pointed out about EXP farming was so easy, It eliminated a lot of the difficulty but to be honest it was not that difficult anyway. Basically, you buy this game for a quick game with some cool ideas. For me, it was fine but left me feeling unfulfilled and wanting more.
