  • Handy unstuck and respawn menu option.
  • You can remap the controls.
  • The map fills in with points of interest and uncovers as you explore and each area will have a checklist of buddies saved, dungeons cleared, puzzle dungeons cleared, and ancient times found.
  • Unlock new abilities and assign them to the four buttons.
  • Stats can be upgraded with shards for – speed, strength, energy, and magic.
  • Weapon and hat slot lets you equip any found/earned ones and they can have buffs attached.
  • Find the guy at the altars to level up and fast-travel.
  • Hearts-based health system and you regain health from abilities, buffs, or visiting the level-up guy.
  • Stamina-based system for combat.
  • Vibrant colorful 3D game world.

  • Breakable objects that may randomly have shards in them.
  • Special stones you can hit to instantly replenish your magic bar to cast abilities.
  • Puzzle dungeons add a bit of variety to the gameplay.

Slime Heroes Review Cons:

  • You cannot pause the game even in single-player offline.
  • Bare minimum graphic settings.
  • Combat can get frustrating and mashy, especially with large groups.
  • The performance can get a bit choppy and slowdown.
  • With no direct camera control the scenery can get in the way and seeing enemies can be tricky.
  • You do not get a lot in the way of guidance or help with progression causing a lot of aimless wandering and hoping you stumble upon something.
  • Enemies respawn really quickly which combined with not knowing where you are going can get tedious.
  • Invisible walls are everywhere.
  • It is so easy to fall off the game world which is instant death or try and jump to something that isn’t actually there.
  • The jump is very floaty and has two types of jump depending on how hard you press the jump.
  • With the precarious nature of deaths and how hard it is to see alternate pathways, the game has you actively avoiding doing any sort of exploration.
  • There is quite a grind for the Shards to level up.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
