- Steam achievements.
- Full controller support.
- Graphics settings – shadow quality, and detail density.
- Controls – remap controls, Invert the axis, and set propulsion mode to hold or set speed.
- The game looks incredible from the animations to the color palette and game world.
- Chilled atmosphere.
- Clean up the rivers and streams gameplay.
- The goal is to drive your boat around scoop up the oil spillages and then recycle it to get cash for upgrades.
- Three ways to upgrade your boat – speed, capacity, and suck ’em hoover size.
- Tutorial videos can pop up as needed.
- On-screen controls menu that can be turned on and off.
- Simple easy-to-use controls.
- A 3D game world and it’s set on an isometric view.
- So much detail like being able to watch the fish swim around.
- When achievements pop, a in game version of the achievement shows.
- Rescue creatures and animal characters in the world.
- You can see how many coins you have by looking at the recycling boat sign.
- Relaxed soundtrack.
- Clear an area of water to expand and unlock more parts of the world.
- Your Hoover sucks em can also open up so you can push barrels and rubbish into the recycling boat for bonus coins.
- Full physics engine at play like rubbish can react to your movement and break up etc.
- As you clear the spillages up the water begins to get its colour and sea life back.
- The boat can be turned a full 360 degrees and doesn’t have any momentum so you can be tight and responsive to the turning.
- Your goal is to upgrade your boat and clear everything up, I say this as you can open up areas and move on before you finish the area entirely.
- There is no time limit and you are free to play and upgrade your boat however you like.
- Unlock new abilities like a water cannon to spray water on rocks to clean them, and a magnet to pick up barrels underwater.

- Put out fires for bonus coins.
- It’s a very chilled experience.
- After you finish the game and get credits you can carry on just exploring the world.
- Handy select area menu option.
- After you finish the game you can freely explore and rewatch the credits, some of the boss types spawn.
Spilled! Review Cons:
- Steam achievements don’t seem to unlock retroactivly so if you played it before the update then you have to start again.
- Controls regardless of choice take some getting used to but it doesn’t take long.
- Minimal graphics options.
- Remapping the controls is done with a description of the button rather than just saying X or A.
- The game doesn’t actually pause.
- At times it can be hard to see small specks of oil, more when the scenery gets in the way but it is a minor complaint.
- I’ve returned barrels and rubbish and seen coins come out but my total doesn’t go up.
- Invisible walls can appear and make getting barrels and rubbish tricky.
- When clearing a set amount of oil the game would chug for a few seconds.
- Seeing individual barrels and rubbish isn’t always easy.
- Lining up underwater barrels feels. Way too easy one minute and then the next I have to be pixel-perfect.
- A short game only about an hour or so.
- No real replay value.
- Couldn’t see a way to max out all upgrades.
- The area select will reset your save.

Summary
Spilled! charms with its cutesy pixel art graphics and isometric 3D game world, offering an impressive level of detail. From vibrant animations to fish swimming beneath the surface, the visuals enrich the relaxing gameplay. The goal is simple yet engaging: driving your boat, cleaning up oil spillages, recycling waste, and earning cash for upgrades. The game’s chilled atmosphere is amplified by a soothing soundtrack and a stress-free lack of time limits, while the physics engine adds a layer of immersion as debris reacts to your movements. With abilities like a water cannon and a magnet, players enjoy a rewarding progression system that unlocks upgrades for speed, capacity, and a satisfying “suck ’em” hoover. The full controller support, responsive controls, and flexible remapping options cater to accessibility, making the experience user-friendly. Players can also rescue creatures and watch areas transform as they restore color and life to polluted waters.
However, Spilled! isn’t without its shortcomings. Minimal graphics settings, the absence of a map system, and a lack of Steam achievements are missed opportunities. The controls, while manageable, have a learning curve, and remapping them displays button descriptions instead of actual labels like “X” or “A.” Some gameplay elements, like detecting small oil specks or lining up underwater barrels, can feel tedious, compounded by occasional scenery interference. Technical hiccups, such as stutters during oil-clearing segments and invisible walls obstructing navigation, detract from the smoothness of the experience. Additionally, the game’s short playtime of around an hour and limited replay value might leave some players wanting more. The inability to max out all upgrades and inconsistencies in coin tracking can also dampen the satisfaction of fully completing the game.
In summary, Spilled! delivers a relaxing, visually delightful, and environmentally focused gameplay experience that many players will enjoy, despite its technical quirks and brevity. With its charming premise and chilled vibes, it’s perfect for unwinding.
