- Screen curvature setting for the filters.
- Camera shake – on/off.
- How to play is the tutorial.
- The goal of the game is to get to the top and claim the magic Gem.
- Simple controls.
- Four game modes – Arcade, Versus, Race, and Time Attack.
- 3 save slots.
- Two arcade difficulties – Normal and Beginner.
- Five race and versus difficulties – Beginner, casual, normal, hiker, and master.
- Three rope modes – Automatic, Mixed, and Advanced.
- In-game cutscenes.
- The game is a case of jumping and grabbing hooks with your rope and racing against someone to the top.
- You can attack.
- Levels are split into short, medium, and long sets.
- Dozen or so locations with unique obstacles.
- Hub area you traverse to enter levels.
- Time your rope jumps to do a higher better jump.
- The screen is split in two with the progress of each racer in the middle, you can enter each screen.
- Races are on a best of three.
- A lot of fun to play.
- Needs to be an E-Sport.
- Fast loading times.
- Really nice presentation.
- It feels retro but plays like a modern game.
- Grab the gem by jumping on it or by using your rope tool.
- Advanced rope control allows you to get a better jump but is harder to pull off.
- Eight characters to unlock each a unique color palette and vehicle.
- Autosaves regularly.
- Local Multiplayer for two players.
- The levels get quite devious.
- Time attack shows your buttons pressed, local leaderboard, and current timer.
- In a time attack, you have Hike master or local ghost options along with the ability to watch replays.
Super Hiking League DX Review Cons:
- Cannot change bindings.
- Can’t skip cutscenes.
- Just throws you in.
- Some of the filters add a disorientating blur or make seeing obstacles hard.
- No online racing.
- Huge knockbacks when getting hit.
- Doesn’t have leaderboards.
- The campaign is with just one character.
- The tutorial is just a short little animated clip.
