  • It’s a game where you feel like you make progress even when you fail.
  • Bandits are the Ai Mechs that inhabit the world and there are different variants and difficulties of them.
  • You can just go out and stock up on materials and resources before tackling harder missions.
  • Surprisingly, it was easy to get around the menus and equip and swap out gear.
  • It’s a huge interesting world full of memorable locations and secrets to find.
  • Buy and sell items in the shop.
  • It’s one of those games where you can scan huge mountains if you know how to manipulate the rocks.
  • Honestly, the early game was stressful but I started playing it like a roguelike, taking on small creatures and avoiding everything else, I would just make an adventure out of getting to the next elevator.
  • Loading screens have the history of the game world and interesting tidbits.
  • Highlight any task/mission or wish list to have the map show you areas to find the items or objective.
  • Anything you build or craft is done in real time but you can spend resources to fast forward time.

  • A world I want to know more about and a game I want to play more of and looking forward to the next big thing that was constant.
  • Find mutated AO strands in the world.
  • The world randomizes drips and enemies and elevators each run.
  • The game nails the fear and tension aspect from every encounter with another player to last stand survival attempts at elevators.
  • A safe pocket is where you can put some items that will not be lost when bailing out.
  • Had a disconnect from the game servers but the game out me right back where I was with everything intact.
  • Create these gnarly mech builds with many parts you can build together.
  • Your Magus can get visually dirty and they will have messed up hair and makeup if applicable. Until you clean them you cannot edit them in any way.
  • Scan other players to see their name, organization, items on them, and there Magus.
  • You always have a couple of missions on the go at once, this is a blessing more than anything as you can change your plans when going above ground.
  • Unlock the ability to receive random items and materials once a day.
  • Everything you build in the garage has a game affect from things like lowering repair costs to making purchases cheaper and having more gameplay options.
  • When you unlock the second southern area of the game you get a ticket to buy a new Magus.
  • Earn money passively by building a piggy bank. It’s earned over real time passing.
  • New requests have been added for the new area but alos new variations of old requests to add a bit more life.
  • All new materials and crafting recipes added.
  • They have finally updated the battle pass system to have it go straight to where you are on it and not the beginning each time.
  • EXP and unlock requirements have been tweaked so it’s not as grindy.

SYNDUALITY echo of Ada Ultimate Edition Review Cons:

  • PlayStation Plus is required, you can only play the tutorial and mess around in menus with the subscription.
  • Couple of hard crashes amd you lose progress and all items unless it was I sure which is unfair when it’s out of your control.
  • So many words and acronyms to keep track of.
  • A lot to take in.
  • Some of the pop-ups assume you already know everything they mention.
  • Slowdown in places.
  • Getting disconnected from the game boots you back to the main menu and is frustrating more than anything.
  • Menus show buttons but it sometimes needs the cursor to be put in then first.
  • When first entering the world for a mission it can be daunting every time to get started.
  • It takes a while to get used to where to go, what is expected, and what to look out for.
  • Any lag makes combat a mess.
  • I was quite an empty world from players to enemies and points of interest.
  • The rain seems really random and always when you don’t want it.
  • Learning and remembering all the different ammo and gun types is not always ideal.
  • A fair amount of in-app purchases for unique Magus models.
  • The timed aspect of building is fine but to speed it up it takes in game and real world money.
  • Using the Drifter pass is not clear and fluid to use and check.
  • It seems to always be random where you land in the world.
  • The spawns and world layouts are randomised and you can really get bad rolls and be on a bad slide of deaths.
  • Early game is a real nightmare as Bandits can easily take you out, everything can just do you easily.
  • It definitely feels like as soon as you get a good run of cargo and Ai crystals you suddenly get a load of damage energies after you and you lose it all.
  • The menus need to be streamlined more, it’s not as quick and straightforward as you would need it to be.
  • By the time I unlocked the second area I grew tired of the same loop to move the game on.
  • Story parts of the game are hidden away and not front and centre.
  • No way to turn off the analysis replay as I never use it.
  • Rewards for missions are really low, EXP earned for the battle pass is really small aswell making it very grindy.
  • After a while you realise that you have a lot of grinding for cash and resources to do basic garage upgrades.
  • The AI of the enemy Bandits are rrwlly bad, they either don’t move or they run away all the time even if grouped up.
  • After many more hours of play grind is the true enemy in this one.
  • The shop has been updated with new elements added but it still feels expensive and not that great.

Summary

“SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada Ultimate Edition” offers a visually stunning experience with its beautiful graphics and action-adventure gameplay. The game features a platinum trophy and a comprehensive tutorial section to get players started. One of the standout aspects is the daily tasks and rewards system, which keeps players engaged. The insurance feature allows players to receive cash value for lost items and goods, adding a layer of security. Players can harvest and collect AO crystals, and Magus production tickets enable them to change and unlock new Magus. The game world is fully 3D with 360-degree camera control, and players can escape their mech before it blows up to avoid losing cargo.

The game also includes a full character creator with various customization options and cool commercials for different parts of the game. The central hub serves as a place for requests, shopping, wardrobe, and resource collection. Players can set up their loadout before missions and have consumables auto-replenish. The extraction process provides a detailed breakdown of the mission, and the game supports co-op missions with up to three players. The Drifter Pass system allows players to earn EXP and level up for rewards. Additionally, the game features a satisfying loot system and a world full of memorable locations and secrets to discover.

However, the game has its drawbacks. Overheating and power consumption are significant issues, as they deplete and increase with booster and weapon use. The rain mechanic, which reduces durability and can injure players, feels random and inconvenient. The game world can feel empty at times, with a lack of players, enemies, and points of interest. The early game is particularly challenging, with Bandits easily taking out players. The menus can be cumbersome and need streamlining, and the game suffers from occasional slowdowns and lag, making combat difficult. Disconnects from the game servers can be frustrating, as they boot players back to the main menu.

In summary, SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada Ultimate Edition is a visually impressive game with engaging gameplay mechanics and a rich world to explore. The daily tasks, insurance feature, and co-op missions add depth and replayability. However, the game is not without its flaws, a challenging early game and constant grind being the biggest offenders. Despite these drawbacks, the game offers a satisfying experience for those willing to invest the time and effort and has such a fascinating basis on world design and story I just needed more of it and more variety to keep it fresh. It must be said it feels like the start of a live service game.
