  • Very addictive.
  • It is a game where honestly it doesn’t feel like you are playing online.

Turbo Sliders Unlimited Review Cons:

  • You need access to a keyboard for entering a tag clan if using a controller or big screen mode.
  • Modes like the editors and customize still need the mouse to navigate menus and quit out.
  • You get so many options for every little thing that it’s overwhelming, I mean it has option drop-down choices, and it just keeps going.
  • No actual tutorial, doesn’t really need one but this is a heads-up.
  • Return to track is the slowest I’ve ever seen in a game.
  • The AI opponents can be properly cheesy.
  • The music is not great.

Summary

Turbo Sliders Unlimited offers a mixed bag of features and experiences. The game boasts decent graphics and a manageable download size of 696.57MB. It supports Steam achievements and full controller functionality, enhancing the overall gaming experience. Players can customize their profiles with default colors, clan tags, and flags. The extensive graphics settings allow for detailed customization, including resolution, fullscreen modes, texture quality, and various visual effects like shadows and water reflections. The racing gameplay is complemented by local multiplayer support for 2 to 4 players and the ability to play with a keyboard. However, certain features like entering a clan tag or navigating menus in editor modes still require a keyboard or mouse, even when using a controller or big screen mode.

The game offers a plethora of options, which can be overwhelming for some players. Despite the lack of a tutorial, the game is relatively easy to pick up. However, the “return to track” feature is notably slow, and the AI opponents can be quite cheesy. The music leaves much to be desired, but the ability to remap controls for both keyboard and controller is a plus. Ghost settings and recording options for replays and race events add to the game’s depth. The editors for levels, vehicles, and campaigns are robust, and the loading times are decent. Car customization is another highlight, along with three main modes: campaigns, local events, and online events. Campaigns feature time trials and race challenges, with three default difficulties and the option to create custom difficulties. Players can also choose the number of AI opponents and pause the campaigns. The race challenges feature AI opponents with randomly generated names that feel realistic.

The game’s handling is one of its strongest points, offering tight and satisfying controls that make skidding and drifting around corners effortless. The locations are visually appealing, and the game has a Trackmania-like feel, both in gameplay and aesthetics, with high player numbers on a track. In campaigns, players earn stars based on their performance to unlock new tracks. Every race features the same car for all players, emphasizing skill in drifting and drafting. The game allows for various HUD configurations, including race leaderboards and player names above cars, or turning off all HUD elements. Turbo Sliders Unlimited caters to both veterans and newcomers, providing an addictive and enjoyable experience that often doesn’t feel like an online game.

In summary, Turbo Sliders Unlimited is a fun and addictive racing game with a range of customization options and modes. While it has some drawbacks, such as overwhelming settings and subpar music, its tight handling, visual appeal, and multiplayer support make it a worthwhile experience for both seasoned players and newcomers.
