Summary
Elden Ring shines with its full controller support, Steam achievements, and trading cards, catering to a broad range of gamers. The graphics are customizable with settings for screen mode, resolution, ray tracing quality, and more, ensuring an optimal visual experience. HDR support and advanced graphics settings allow for fine-tuning to personal preferences. The game offers robust control options, including full mouse and keyboard support with remappable controls and sensitivity adjustments.
The gameplay is Soulslike, challenging yet rewarding, with a massive open world that encourages exploration. The online features enhance this experience by allowing messages from other players that can provide hints or challenges, as well as the option for cross-region play. Combat is dynamic with a handy lock-on feature and various attack modes like auto lock-on, auto target, and manual aiming. The game world is fully 3D with 360-degree camera control, adding to the immersion.
However, Elden Ring’s difficulty may be daunting for some players. It’s a game that requires significant investment in time and effort to fully grasp its complexities. The reliance on external guides and YouTube videos to uncover all aspects of the game indicates that some elements may not be intuitive or easily discovered during casual play.
Overall, Elden Ring offers an expansive and immersive gaming experience with its vast open world, deep combat system, and extensive customization options. While it may be challenging and sometimes overwhelming, the sense of accomplishment from overcoming its trials is unparalleled. It’s a game that rewards patience and perseverance, offering a unique adventure for every player willing to delve into its rich and atmospheric world. What I like the most is the fact that I have total control over what I want to do, I spent hours just riding around and finding Grace spots, vendors, etc, and it is a totally valid approach. I used a guide a lot for particular weapon builds and to make sure I maximized my sessions but I never felt like I was cheating, I just cannot say enough how good this game is and how it has not only redefined a genre, but It has created a whole new genre in a way!
