Escape From Duckov Review Pros

  • Decent graphics.
  • 2.32GB download size.
  • Steam achievements.
  • Controller support, and you can download a mod to make it easier.
  • Full Steam mod support, and it’s easy to set up and add in-game.
  • Survival gameplay.
  • Tutorial pop-ups as you play, and you have an opening section separate from the main game.
  • You have a main base underground where you can buy and sell items, use the gun range, build utilities like crafting benches and move everything around.
  • Go topside, get kills, supplies, resources, do missions, and then extract back to your hub to end the run and the day.
  • Day and night cycle with storms hitting to make it harder and more dangerous. Luckily, you also get warnings of upcoming storms.
  • Your room has a bed where you can sleep at any time.
  • Isometric 3D game world.
  • You play in third person and can aim 360 degrees.
  • Darkness, or the fog if you like, will hide the world until you go close.
  • AI enemies will live in the world; they can be killed, stealth killed, alerted and lost, but they can also team up and hunt you down.
  • Find fast travel points and teleports on the map.
  • You can loot boxes, crates, wardrobes, enemies and more.
  • Take on missions and tasks at your base, but also from people you find in the world.
  • Earn exp and level up to get new toys and upgrades.
  • You have basic character customisation.
  • Loot comes in different rarities.
  • Crafting is in the game, as is upgrading equipment.
  • I really like how the camera changes and pans around when you go to certain spots.
  • It’s a game where you can play an extraction shooter, and it’s single player, so you can go and play how you want and in small or large increments.
  • Use the scenery and environment for cover, but also to gain an advantage.
  • You will see your health, but also the enemy’s health bars.

Escape From Duckov Review Cons

  • The controller support is bad by default, and the mod only does so much, so don’t buy the game for full excellent controller support.
  • The game has a slow on-ramp as you start to build up materials, resources and get a good stash of items.
  • Shooting can be good, but it can also go a bit awry and not feel that responsive.
  • Accessing and using the stash is not as smooth and easy or even as straightforward as it needs to be; games like this need fast stashing and minimal downtime so you can get back out there.
  • Tutorial pop-ups are either slow to come up, or they don’t exist, and you find out simple things hours later.

Summary

Escape From Duckov: The Thrills and Highlights of Gameplay: Escape From Duckov throws you into an isometric 3D world where feathers fly, and loot drops fast. You sneak, shoot, and scavenge your way across a fog-covered landscape where darkness hides everything until you get close. The survival loop is strong. You head topside to get kills, supplies, resources, missions, and then extract back to your underground hub to end the run and the day. The base lets you buy and sell items, use the gun range, build utilities like crafting benches, move everything around, and take on tasks from both base characters and people you meet in the world. Day and night cycles, storms that roll in with warnings, fast travel points, teleports, lootable containers, character levelling, crafting, upgrades, and 360-degree aiming all feed into a flexible extraction shooter you can play in short or long bursts. AI enemies roam the world, can be stealth killed, alerted, lost, or team up to hunt you down. The camera shifts and pans at certain spots, and the environment gives you cover and tactical advantages while showing both your health and the enemy’s.

Escape From Duckov Where It Falls Short Key Negatives: Controller support is rough by default, and even with a mod, it never reaches the level it needs, so it is not something to pick up for full controller play. Shooting can be solid, but also go off and lose responsiveness. The stash system is clunky and slows down the pace when games like this need fast stashing and minimal downtime. Tutorial pop-ups are inconsistent, slow to appear, or missing entirely, leaving you to discover basic mechanics hours later. The early game also has a slow on-ramp as you gather materials and build up a decent stash.

Escape From Duckov Immersive Story and Narrative Elements: Escape From Duckov leans into fog of war tension and cartoonish charm. You deal with portal-powered poultry, beaked bandits, and a world that hides itself until you push forward. It is a quirky setup that supports the survival and extraction loop without getting in the way of the moment-to-moment action.

Escape From Duckov Visual and Performance Aspects:
Graphics are decent, the download size is small, and the game supports Steam achievements, mod support, and controller options if you choose to tweak them. The isometric 3D world looks good in motion, storms and darkness add atmosphere, and the camera work adds flair when it pans around key spots. Performance feels solid across both the underground base and the topside areas.

Escape From Duckov Overall Verdict: Is It Worth Playing: Escape From Duckov blends tactical tension with a playful style, offering a single-player extraction shooter with plenty of progression hooks and a strong survival loop. Some rough edges hold it back, especially the controller issues, stash handling, and tutorial gaps, but the core experience is fun, flexible, and full of charm. It is a distinctive extraction shooter that stands out thanks to its world, its loop, and its personality.

Back of the Box Quotes:
A quirky extraction shooter where every run feels like a new duck hunt. Survive, loot, and waddle your way through a world that never stops surprising.
