Gioteck Smart TV+ Duo Wireless Controller Review Pros:

  • Multi-format switch (2.4gHz, iOS, Android, PC).
  • Dual-band wireless.
  • Turbo button is easy to assign, just a case of holding the T button down and pressing the button you want assigned.
  • Vibration support.
  • Pairing to a smart TV is easy but it depends on your TV.
  • RGB lighting.
  • Easy-to-use switch that shows what device is set.
  • Comfortable to hold.
  • Easy to pair as it is just a case of holding down the home button for a few seconds or connecting it via USB C.
  • Comes with two AA batteries.
  • USB C cable is supplied and is 2.5m long.
  • Even gamers with big hands can hold the pad comfortably.
  • The 2.4gHz adapter is stored in the battery compartment.
  • Handy ribbon in the batter section so you can get the batteries out quickly.
  • The shoulder buttons are comfortable and have no gap between them so you can move between the top and button smoothly.
  • The controller has all the buttons needed from the start and selects, a T button in the middle, and then the “home” button.
  • The D-pad is well designed and comfortable to not only use but feels tight in platforming games.
  • Click both sticks to change the color of your stick LEDs.
  • Turns on and off a lot quicker than other controllers I use paired with my laptop.
  • Worth noting the springs in the shoulder buttons are tight and responsive.

Gioteck Smart TV+ Duo Wireless Controller Review Cons:

  • The grips on the controller itself are kind of smooth and feel plasticy and not grippy.
  • does have a lot of weight in the center. (it’s where the batteries are so it makes sense)
  • The stick grips work but they feel too smooth and to me, they feel almost worn out.
  • Cannot change out the sticks or any part of the controller.
  • No rechargeable battery pack.
  • Obvious but you cannot charge rechargeable batteries in the controller.
  • Couldnt get the controller to go through all the colors and could only set it to one.
  • No idea if it ever needs a firmware update so I would have to keep an eye on the website.
  • Getting the 2.4gHz adapter out can be a real pain.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
