Mage Drops Preview (Steam Early Access)
Mage Drops Preview Pros:
- Beautiful bright graphics.
- 2.48MB Download size.
- Full controller support.
- Graphics – resolution.
- Golf gameplay.
- You can add brakes to a shot in order to stop it mid-air and land.
- Basic tutorial help.
- Handy restart course button.
- You have an aiming arc/line.
- End of a level breakdown showing your stroke count, time bonus, and if you got Bronze, Silver, or Gold award.
- Roll on – opposite of braking as this will allow the ball to move forward slowly.
- Tranquil soundtrack.
- Really nice hole locations.
- You can zoom out on the course.
- Excellent level design as it adds in layered mechanics and has an almost puzzle element.
- Rings will trigger a special ability and you can cancel it at any time.
- Double rings mean it’s an obstacle or object that can be manipulated.
- Boasts 8 tournaments/courses you can unlock and play.
- Can replay levels.
- Separate tutorial course.
- Drops – you collect these in courses and they are used to unlock further tournaments.
- Feels like a Harry Potter crazy golf game.
- Precise easy to control aiming model as you can be as broad or as precise as needed.
- Hearts – you have 3 and losing all 3 means a course restart. You lose hearts from obstacles and traps like spikes.
Mage Drops Preview Cons:
- Cannot rebind controls.
- The menu to show the controls is messy.
- You cannot zoom out very far.
- No penalty for abusing the brakes and roll-on abilities.
- No graphics settings.
- Doesn’t have any customisation.
- No Steam achievements yet.
- The guide/aim line needs to be clearer or darker as it’s hard to see.
- Sometimes it’s hard to tell what is an obstacle in the course or in the fore/background.
- Feels a bit flat in terms of atmosphere.
