Mangavania 2 Review Pros:

  • Nice pixel art graphics.
  • 170.8MB download size.
  • Platinum trophy.
  • Two game difficulties – Normal and hard.
  • Speed platformer gameplay.
  • Tutorial signs in levels.
  • Full level selection of every unlocked level showing your current best completion time.
  • All levels and runs are timed-based.
  • The idea is you memorize level layouts as they never change.
  • You can deflect enemy projectiles back.
  • Wall climbing, projectile deflection, and jumping off candles are your arsenal of actions.
  • Twenty levels with the final one being a boss fight.
  • Tight controls.
  • Great level design.

Mangavania 2 Review Cons:

  • You cannot remap the controls.
  • The menu music is very Gothic but the in-game music is not good and does not suit the vibe.
  • Wall jumping is not always precise or reaction-heavy.
  • The trophy list is boring and plain.
  • No replay value as the timer means nothing, and no online leaderboards or incentives to do better.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
