Rocket League Review (Xbox One)
This Rocket League Review is a game whereby Soccer meets driving once again in the long-awaited, physics-based multiplayer-focused sequel to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars and now finally Xbox One owners can join in the fun.
Rocket League Review Pros:
- High-detailed graphics with lush neon effects.
- Banging soundtrack covering many genres from techno to pop.
- Simple controls. Uses the same control scheme as the other console versions.
- The tutorial area is where you can learn the basics.
- Advanced training is where you can get a look at the advanced plays in the game.
- Comes with all previously released DLC packs.
- Small download size.
- Detailed options set: Invert camera, Camera shake on/off, FOV slider, Camera height/angle, and distance. Camera speed and stiffness, V-Sync, Push to talk and ability to mute voice/text chat.
- In-game text shortcuts for sayings like good job, apologies or great save. You also have the ability to write your own message.
- Over a dozen cars to unlock including two Xbox-exclusive ones from Gears of War and Halo.
- Mutators: Allows you to change everything about the game from ball type (cube, ball, and puck) ball speed, size, goal/time limit, and even add an infinite turbo. Mutators really mix it up.
- Customize your car. Unlock 100s of extras for your car. From antennas to hats and even boost trails. The game has you covered from colors to sponsored items from places like NeoGaf and Reddit.
- Earn exp at the end of the game and level up. Work your way through the ranks. EXP is earned for doing things like saves, shots, aerial hits, etc. Basically, play the game and you are good.
- 1000 Gamerscore.
- Replays of each goal. Replays of matches can be saved and rewatched.
- Boost pads scattered over the arena and respawn. Use it to build your boost gauge.
- Can rebind controls.
- 1-4 player splitscreen.
- 2-8 players online.
- Season mode: Create a team and face off in the offline championship.
- Exhibition: Pick a stadium and AI difficulty.
- Fast rewarding gameplay.
- New arenas will always be FREE.
Rocket League Review Cons:
- Few moments of the slowdown in places.
- Really needs the ability to save goal replays individually or better yet have it auto-save goal replays.
- No clan support.
- Doesn’t include the latest maps just released on the other versions.
- Doesn’t have cross-play with PC.
- Lag in any way ruins the games.
