  • Not all menus support the controller and require a mouse and keyboard.
  • Menus that do support the mouse are less than ideal with the right stick acting as a mouse.
  • When picking up some items you do the animation and everything but the item doesn’t actually move.
  • Has annoying mission criteria like reading the manual before this door opens.
  • No way to change the text size in the game.
  • A lot of broken English in the menu which can be hard to decipher at times.
  • The story is fine but character interactions are plain and sometimes you don’t even get one, you just say join me and they say yes. That’s it!
  • The physics can go crazy especially when hitting boulders and chunks of stone going flying everywhere.
  • Hard to read the mission checklist as it clashes with the colors of the game a lot.
  • You don’t get great feedback on your hits, you never know if you are doing something or how much health a zombie has.
  • Weird animations in places.
  • You get so little resources and materials from places like trees and boulders.
  • A lot of menu surfing.
  • Building two storage boxes next to each other doesn’t make one big storage box.
  • A very slow starter.
  • The opening tutorial missions are very basic and have you slowly plodding along.

Despite its many strengths, the game has some niggling issues. Not all menus support the controller and require a mouse and keyboard. The menus that do support the mouse are less than ideal with the right stick acting as a mouse. The game also has a lot of broken English in the menu which can be hard to decipher at times. The story is fine but character interactions are plain and sometimes you don’t even get one, you just say join me and they say yes. That’s it!

Summary: In conclusion, Night of the Dead offers a rich and immersive gaming experience with its variety of features and gameplay options. It shines in its graphics, open-world exploration, and character customization. However, it falls short in areas such as menu navigation, language translation, and resource allocation. Despite these drawbacks, the game’s strengths make it a worthwhile experience for those seeking a challenging and engaging zombie survival game. It’s a game that has many genres within it and adds so much variety, making it a unique addition to the gaming world honestly is a massive game full of your own potential and fun. It leaves Day Z in the dust and shows no signs of letting up.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
